How to Get to Tulley Tulip Fest from London

Getting to Tulley Tulip Fest in West Sussex from London is not too difficult. The easiest way to reach the farm is by train, with the nearest station being Three Bridges just 3 stops from London Bridge on the Thameslink. The train ride is only 51-minute train ride and can be booked ahead here. From the train, you can take a short 10-15 minute taxi ride or a hop on the bus.

The bus is directly across the train station. Just note at night it is a little less frequent. Our next one was a 40 minute wait when we left so we decided to get a taxi.

The taxis are sitting at Tulley Farm so it won’t be hard to get one. The cost for the 4 of us was £16 to the Three Bridges station. Uber is also available but wait times can be long as there aren’t any Uber drivers in the immediate area.

Visitors can also reach the farm by car, with plenty of free parking available on-site.

If you decide to drive and need to hire a car, I recommend renting one with Discover Cars as it finds you the best deals across various rental companies in London.

Tulley’s Farm Locations

The farm I visited was in Turners Hill, Crawley, West Sussex but there are also smaller tulip fields in additional UK locations including Hertfordshire and Warwickshire!

Best Things to Do at Tulley’s Tulip Fest

  1. Wander through the gorgeous fields of over 1.5 million colorful tulips!
  2. Find so many cute photo spots. They have a a charming windmill, wooden hearts, colorful backdrops, and a ferris wheel all on site. This place is just made for Instagram.
  3. Don’t miss Tulip Nights, where the fields light up after dark with tulip-themed paths — it’s very magical and great for children.
  4. Live acoustic musicians are at the fields while you explore so soak in the atmosphere.
  5. There is plenty of food for sale including Dutch cuisine. They have things like pancakes and you can also order cocktails from the Tulip Bar.
  6. Although you can’t pick the flowers, there’s a Tulip Boutique where you can buy gorgeous fresh-cut flowers home with you. They cost £1.50 per stem or you can get 10 stems for £10.

Good news: Tulley’s is super family-friendly and even dog-friendly.

Tulley’s Tulip Fest Review

I loved being able to see tulips in the UK & not have to venture to the Netherlands. Admiring all the flowers was surreal. I did feel like some of the decorations before you enter were semi-cheesy. But I think it’s really built to attract kids and families so it’s all good. Actually, the enchanted forest was quite cute with all the lights at night. The prices are a bit high in my opinion. A £20 ticket into the farm and the flower prices seem a tad steep. Plus, the food, we saw fries for £7. But that is what comes with these Instagram built hotspots I supposed. All in all, I loved the experience and think it was worth going at least once!

Photo Tips for Tulley’s Tulip Farm:

  1. If you want the best shot at avoiding crowds, arrive at opening time. However, I went at sunset time and despite the crowds, we still got great shots. There’s usually plenty of angles you can get without people in them.
  2. Experiment with angles: The flower fields are best captured from different angles, so try capturing shots from a low or high angle to add variety to your photos. One cool trick is to place your camera super low on the ground, right under the tulips. Capture it on 0.5x on your iphone to fit everything in. Stand with a friend for a perfect frame with the tulips and the sky! That is how I took the picture above.
  3. Buy tulips at the shop and place them in a straw bag so you have a nice prop for your photos!
  4. Use a tripod: A tripod can be useful if you’re solo or want photos with your friend or partner. Check out this tutorial from my Instagram Reel of how I use my tripod (linked hereto take photos traveling alone.
  5. Edit your photos: You can buy my presets here and edit like me with some simple steps. This will make your photos pop with a simple filter you can apply in Lightroom with one click.
