Location

Hotel Honucai is located in the South-east of Mallorca within the charming coastal town of Colònia Sant Jordi, You can reach the hotel by car in 45 minutes from the Palma de Mallorca Airport. It is highly recommended to drive in Mallorca as public transport is not the most convenient. You can check prices across car rental agencies via Discover Cars here. However, there is a bus 5 minutes away from the hotel which will take you directly to Palma. The area is much quieter and less touristic than more popular areas of Mallorca like Palma which made it even more special to me. I am a true fan of finding hidden gems even in popular places like Mallorca.

Check-in

The check-in process was super smooth. I entered the sliding doors and was greeted by the kind staff. Immediately, I felt welcome and loved the decor of the reception hall. It featured pops of colors, and a modern yet elegant design. The staff asked for a copy of my passport and then handed me the cutest room key. It was a wooden key in the shape of a turtle! Check-in starts at 4pm and check-out is at 12pm. There is a place to store your luggage at reception. The staff brought my bags to the room for me which made things easier for me.

Facilities and Amenities

Rooftop Pool

One of the highlights of the property is the rooftop pool area. There are stunning views of the seafront from here. I could easily spend all day just here lounging at the pool on the comfy beach chairs with a cocktail at hand. The atmosphere was perfect and the pool was shallow enough for an easy dip to cool off from the summer heat.

There are special services you are able to book. You can rent the TOP for private parties up to 20. You can also reserve a companion toast which includes 3 hours in The TOP, a bottle of wine, cava or beers, and enough snacks to keep you merry. Dining

Hotel Honocai has a huge focus on gastronomy with chef Pablo Tomás creating a highly-rated culinary experience. There are two restaurants and both are accessible to non-guests too. The first is Salicornia Restaurant and the second is the TOP The hotel truly is known for its magnificent food made with the highest quality ingredients. Featuring seafood-inspired dishes due to its proximity to the sea, you’ll be in true foodie heaven when dining here.

Salicornia Restaurant Mallorca

Salicornia Restaurant is located on the seafront and you can dine outside with views of the harbor or in their beautiful indoor space. This is where you can enjoy a free breakfast buffet too.

For lunch and dinner, you can order delicious meals featuring fresh local fish or paella. During my stay, I tried a variety of dishes and everything I had was so good. Not only that, the presentation of the dishes was superior. Everything was locally sourced and the cocktails were also very good.

Some of my favorite things I tried was Fideuà, which is a traditional Spanish dish similar to paella. However, it is made with toasted noodles called fideos, cooked in a flavorful broth with seafood, vegetables, and spices. I also really enjoyed the clams and the fresh fish that was presented in a giant fish on wheels (like the picture below) which the chef opened up and served.

The TOP

The TOP is located on the rooftop of Hotel Honucai. In the daytime, it is perfect for lounging by the pool and at night the area turns into an amazing vibe where you can enjoy fruity cocktails, dine out for dinner, and even listen to live performances. The food features a selection of raw oysters or Majorcan-style robata (Japanese grill).

Conclusion

If you are looking for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle, I definitely recommend Hotel Honocai. It is the perfect place to relax. If you’re a foodie and beach lover there’s no doubt about it, you will love it.
