Travelpayouts Review: The Best Travel Affiliate Program for Bloggers

In this Travelpayouts review, I’m sharing my honest experience using the platform and whether I think it’s one of the best travel affiliate programs for bloggers. As a full-time travel blogger and content creator, affiliate marketing has become one of my top sources of income. I’ve been using Travelpayouts for the past four years, and it has made managing my travel affiliate links much easier.

Before Travelpayouts, I was signing up for individual affiliate programs and creating separate links for each travel partner. I also used networks like Commission Junction, which could feel a little clunky when I was managing multiple programs at once. Having so many travel partners in one place has made the process much more straightforward.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through how I use Travelpayouts, the pros and cons I’ve found after 4 years, and some of my best tips for making money through travel affiliate marketing. I’m also including what I think works best if you’re a smaller travel blogger just getting started.

What is Travelpayouts?

Travelpayouts is an affiliate marketing program with 90+ affiliate partners all in one place. This includes reputable brands like Booking.com, Airalo, Viator, Discover Cars, and more. Travelpayouts caters to travel bloggers and travel content creators, so it may not be useful if you don’t plan to recommend travel-related programs.

Before Travelpayouts, I was signing up to each travel partner’s affiliate program separately. I had a spreadsheet with the logins to about 10+ partners, and all my earnings were just everywhere. Now, I have streamlined it all with Travelpayouts. Thankfully, the vast majority of the partners I was working with were already on Travelpayouts. So it was a win-win for me. I was able to see one dashboard with all my earnings and get one paycheck a month.

Competitors to Travelpayouts include Commission Junction and Impact. I found that they have a cumbersome sign-up process, and linking can be confusing. Plus, not all the travel partners I was interested in were on here.

Pros & Cons of Travelpayouts

Pros

• Access 90+ affiliate partners all in one place. This includes reputable brands like Booking.com, Discover Cars for car rentals, and tour booking platforms like Klook or Viator.
• It is trusted by 600k leading creators and top travel brands.
• If you are doing exceptionally well at converting users to Booking.com or GetYourGuide, they will sometimes negotiate a higher commission for you.
• You can use LinkSwitcher to switch all your affiliate links to Travelpayouts instantly. No need to manually switch old links!
• One platform for tracking revenue, analytics, and getting paid across as many partners as you choose.
• They have an excellent support team that is available for quick advice and issues you have.
• Instead of trying to reach a $50 minimum on six separate platforms, all your earnings from every brand pool into one balance. This makes it much easier and faster to actually get paid.

Cons

• Commission varies per individual platform.
• Travel-only partners mean no use outside the travel niche, so it doesn’t help if your site covers other verticals.
• You’re dependent on a third party. As with any network, you get access convenience, but that might mean a less direct relationship with brands.
• Payout hold periods can be long for certain partners. Booking.com and Agoda, for example, can take up to 90 days to confirm a commission before it’s even added to your balance.

How to Get Started with Travelpayouts

Travelpayouts is very simple to use, and that’s the main reason I love it. You can get started in minutes.

• Step 1: Join the Travelpayouts Partnership Platform here. It’s free to use Travelpayouts, and you’ll be able to access your dashboard straight away. You will need a travel blog to get started. Learn how to start a travel blog in my detailed guide.
• Step 2: Add information about your project and how you plan to promote links using Travelpayouts, whether it be for your blog or social media.
• Step 3: Connect to Programs: As mentioned, there are 90+ travel brands within Travelpayouts. You will need to join the ones you’re interested in promoting and wait a couple of days to be approved for each.
• Step 4: Start linking! I recommend downloading TravelPayout’s Chrome extension, which makes it super simple to get your personal tracked link.

How much you can earn with Travelpayouts

How much you earn with Travelpayouts depends on how strategic you are with your link placements and the user intent behind the blog post itself. Most think they need a huge reader base to start earning, but it’s simply not the case. I talk a lot about this in my free e-book on affiliate marketing. But to give you an idea, if you wrote on a purchasing-style topic like the best Lake Como boat tours, you could earn so much money even if the volume is quite low. Plus, those boat tours are high-ticket! You’d be earning so much commission compared to an entry ticket somewhere, for example.

When I first started out, I could earn straight away with Travelpayouts. As a more established blogger, I’ve earned anywhere between $1K and $3.5K a month. You can see my exact earnings from Travelpayouts below. In 2025, I earned a total of $19k in commissions! Blogging can be tedious; you have to love it to have the dedication to do it, and once you do, the reward is amazing.

Should you use Travelpayouts or Stay22?

I often get this question from many beginner bloggers, so I thought I’d explain here whether you should use Travelpayouts or Stay22.

Many bloggers use both Travelpayouts and Stay22 but for different reasons. I personally use Travelpayouts for all my direct links and widgets and Stay22 for their Nova script, which leaves behind a booking.com/Expedia link in a new background tab. This discreet window pops up with your affiliate cookie ID, so the next hotel booking the user makes is credited to you as a referral. So you can earn extra cash even if they didn’t click on a hotel link you recommend. I highly recommend enabling this feature because it’s earned me $1-3K more a month. I thought it would be a bad user experience, but I think users barely notice it.

Now Travelpayouts has launched a similar tool to Stay22’s Nova within Drive under Targeted Offers. Drive behaves similarly to Nova. Plus, it goes beyond just hotel bookings, including activities like Viator and GetYourGuide. So, I’m testing it out myself, as having everything together is always nice.

If you wish to use both affiliate programs for the different scenarios I mentioned above, you can definitely do that. However, if you decide to use these AI-driven leave-behinds, you should choose only one. Running Stay22’s Nova and Travelpayouts’ Targeted Offers at the same time will conflict. I highly recommend testing both individually to see which algorithm performs best for your specific audience.
