Coffee in Hoi An, Vietnam: What to Try

Vietnam is known for many unique coffee concoctions. That would include Vietnamese drip coffee, egg coffee (coffee topped with foamy whipped egg yolk), Coconut coffee (served with coconut milk and sometimes coconut ice cream), and my ultimate fav – salt iced coffee (coffee topped with a pinch of salt)!

Most of the coffees contain condensed milk which makes it sweet like a treat. This is really why it tastes so good! I love going for coffee instead of a desert – it’s my sweet treat for the day really! Now let’s get into where to taste some of the best coffee in Hoi An, Vietnam.

Plus, all these coffee drinks only cost between $1-3 USD. If you’re interested to know how much stuff costs in Vietnam, read my full guide on how much I spent in Vietnam in a whole month. It will surprise you – in a good way!

Wondering where to stay in Hoi An?

Best Hoi An Cafes

1. Faifo Coffee

☕ Best for: Rooftop views & the Instagrammable Cafe Window
📍Location: Faifo Coffee in the Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: Mon-Thurs: 8 am–9:30 pm; Fri-Sun: 7:30 am–9:30 pm
⭐ Google Rating: 4.0 (2,630 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @faifocoffee

This might be the most insta-worthy cafe in Hoi An. I love the cute window where you can sit and watch people pass by for hours. Also, taking a photo from the outside with you here is just perfect!

As for the coffee, it’s really good. I loved my salted iced latte! They have a rooftop as well which offers views of the Old Town.

2. Mê Hội An

☕ Best for: Food and rooftop views
📍Location: Mê Hội An in Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 7 am–11 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.7 (356 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @mehoian

Another rooftop coffee shop in Hoi An is Mê Hội An. Not only do they have great coffee, they also have fantastic food. I was actually not expecting the food to be so nice but it was!

I also loved how they had many floors, all with outdoor balconies too.

3. Rosie’s Cafe

☕ Best for: Brunch + Hidden Gem
📍Location: Rosie’s Cafe in Hoi An Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 8 am–4 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.7 (1,338 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @rosiecafe

Rosie’s Cafe is tucked away on a side street you wouldn’t even pass by unless you were looking for it. It’s a hidden coffee shop in Hoi An, you’ve got to visit. They have delicious brunch and coffee. They have possibly the best coconut iced coffee in Hoi An too!

Lots of digital nomads and expats come here to visit. Although it’s not that work-friendly, it has a great vibe. Plus, you’ll be dining in an outdoor seating area with tons of plants all around giving it a secluded garden feel.

4. Roving Chill House

☕ Best for: working or relaxing with a book
📍Location: Roving Chill house (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 7 am–9 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.4 (981 reviews)

Roving Chill House is a great coffee shop located in the countryside of Hoi An, away from the tourists surrounded by rice paddies. Like the name states, it’s a place you can really chill.

I actually spent the day here working and many other guests just lounge on one of the cozy corners. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of cozy nooks. The wi-fi is good enough to get some work done too. The food is not rated the best although I had no problems with it. The drinks are perfectly good! And the ambiance is really what sets this place apart.

It’s definitely worth exploring outside of the Old Town, which many people visiting Hoi An fail to do. In my opinion, it would be shame to not experience this slower atmosphere as the Old Town can be a bit overwhelming.

5. Xom Chieu

☕ Best for: Rice Paddy Views + Local vibes
📍Location: Xom Chieu in Cẩm Sơn (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 6 am–5 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.8 (201 reviews)

This cafe in Hoi An is definitely an undiscovered one. It’s also situated in front of a rice paddy. My favorite part (besides the delicious coffee) is that there are swings facing the rice paddies!

How relaxing is this spot? It is super local and you’ll need to get a Grab there (the Vietnamese version of Uber) or bike there.

6. Reaching Out Teahouse

☕ Best for: Quiet Atmosphere and Unique Concept
📍Location: Reaching Out Teahouse in Hoi An Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 8 am–8 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.8 (1,414 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @reachingoutteahouse

Although this is mainly a teahouse, I had to add it to the list because it’s such a unique place to visit during your Hoi An itinerary. That’s because this is no ordinary teahouse.

Everyone inside remains silent and you order using the order sheet provided on the table. If you need to ask a question or say thank you, you can signal to the staff using the message cubes laid out on the table. The concept of this place is to empower those with disabilities.

The decor in here is so aesthetic and you will really enjoy the beautiful tea spread – it is super photogenic.

7. Moments

☕ Best for: People watching + Instagrammable sign
📍Location: Moments in Hoi An Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 8 am–11 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.8 (1,005 reviews)

This cafe reads “From Hoi An with Love” on the outside! And in the inside it says “Meet Me in Hoi An.” There’s also a clothing shop that has a “Meet Me in Hoi An” sign and that is located in a gift shop called Sunday in Hoi An. I just love how cute and instagrammable the signs are. This cafe is really in the heart of the Old Town and the perfect place for a coffee break.

8. Memories Brunch & Cafe

☕ Best for: rooftop views + delicious coffee
📍Location: Memories Brunch & Cafe in Hoi An Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 6:30 am–10 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.8 (357 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @memoriescafe.hoian

Memories Brunch & Cafe is a nice and cosy cafe with stellar service. You can order from the coffee menu everything from coconut coffee to Vietnamese black coffee to salt iced coffee. The cafe also has a rooftop with a view.

9. Cafe Slow

☕ Best for: relaxing in the countryside with rice paddy views
📍Location: Cafe Slow in Cẩm Hà (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 7:30 am–6 pm daily; Closed on Wednesdays
⭐ Google Rating: 4.6 (187 reviews)
📸 Instagram: @cafe.slow

Cafe Slow is just that – a cafe where you can take things slow. It’s located right in front of a rice paddy so you can relax with wonderful views. If you’re a digital nomad it’s a great place to work if you need to. If you don’t use a car or motorbike to get here, they will reward you with a discount off your coffee!

10. Fika Cafe

☕ Best for: All Day Breakfast + Salted Iced Lattes
📍Location: Fika Cafe – Old Town (Google Maps)
🕛 Opening Hours: 8:30 am–5 pm daily
⭐ Google Rating: 4.9 (152 reviews)

I googled where I could get the best salt iced coffee in Hoi An as I was craving one. That’s when I found Fika Cafe and it was really good! It’s located down a quiet alley and they also serve all day breakfast!
