Guide to 3 days in Porto 🇵🇹

I spent two weeks exploring Porto, and these were some of my favorite places. I fell in love with this beautiful city and the best part was discovering a it’s hidden gems and incredible viewpoints.

But my favorite day was actually spent outside the city 👀

The Douro Valley is one of the most beautiful day trips from Porto, and so many visitors miss it. Take the scenic train to Pinhão, visit a quinta for lunch and wine tasting, then finish with a Rabelo boat cruise through the valley. 🍷🚂

🏛️ This stunning 17th-century palace is tucked away in São Domingos de Benfica, and you can visit the gardens on their own or take a guided tour inside.

🌸 I was limited on time, so I chose just the gardens and honestly, they were the highlight. I was so surprised to have the place practically to myself in the afternoon!

🤎 I loved wandering through the beautiful greenery, discovering the Portuguese azulejos, labyrinths, and stunning fountains. It felt like such a peaceful escape from the busier parts of Lisbon.

💶 Gardens: €8 | Gardens + palace: €17. Tickets can easily be purchased on the spot.

Can’t believe how many people miss this place in Portugal 🇵🇹

Just 1 hour from Lisbon, is a medieval walled town where you can walk along the ancient walls, wander through cobblestone streets and explore a castle surrounded by tiny whitewashed houses.

🏰 The town was given as a wedding gift to a Portuguese queen in the 13th century.
🍒 It’s famous for ginjinha, a sour-cherry liqueur traditionally served in a chocolate cup.
📚 It’s also a UNESCO City of Literature.
