For your stay in Porto, I recommend staying close to the Ribeira or São Bento Train station. That way, you can easily walk to all the main attractions. I’d also recommend staying in Gaia for the best views. I stayed in both areas. I personally loved staying at in Gaia where the hotel above is pictured. It was affordable and very nice. The views from the room were amazing! My room had cable cars running right past.

Day 1
🚂 São Bento Train Station to see the beautiful blue tiles known as azulejos
🥧 Pastel de nata at Castro
💙 Capela das Almas (Chapel of Souls) for more azulejos
🐟 Sardines shopping at A Pérola do Bolhão, which happens to have the prettiest facade
🛍️ Bolhão Market for lunch
☕️ Coffee at the historic Majestic Café @majestic_cafe
💙 Igreja do Carmo
📚 Livraria Lello @livraria.lello (reserve ahead)
🦚 A hidden garden in the city, Jardins do Palácio de Cristal
🌅 Sunset at Jardim do Morro & Miradouro da Serra do Pilar

Livraria Lello is the most beautiful bookstore in the world! It was on my bucket list to visit for a while because I loved the design, and the red staircase looks so pretty.

However, this place is insanely busy, which may take away from the experience if you don’t plan right. I passed by at the time the store opened and already saw a massive queue forming way before opening time.

You have to buy tickets to visit this bookstore ahead of time, as it does sell out. The ticket price fortunately contributes to a book of your choice inside. I purchased the Ticket-Voucher Livraria Lello for €15.95.

The Jardin
2,000 years ago, an entire city disappeared… In 7 2,000 years ago, an entire city disappeared…

In 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried Pompeii under layers of ash and 20 feet of volcanic debris.

Don’t miss:
- Seeing the raised stepping stones so people didn’t walk through the dirty streets
- you’ll find homes are still somehow preserved with colorful frescoes and mosaics
- the ancient bakeries and fast-food counters
- And the most moving part was seeing the plaster casts of the victims.
- The forum was the coolest spot to see views of the columns with Mount Vesuvius in the background.

My tips:
- Go early to beat the crowds and give yourself plenty of time - Pompeii is huge.
- I highly recommend hiring a guide because having someone explain what you’re looking at is really useful. Comment ‘guide’ and I’ll send you the one I booked!
- If you prefer exploring independently, official audio guides are also available inside the park.
- Be prepared for the heat and no shade.
- Bring comfortable shoes because the walking paths aren’t always smooth

Getting there:
I took the train from Sorrento, which was only 35 minutes.
It’s also popular to go from Rome, but it takes around 2 hours each way.

👉 Comment ‘guide’ and I’ll send you the tour I booked for Pompeii. It was more affordable because I got the train on my own from Sorrento and booked the guide for my arrival.

Tucked away in the heart of the city, this stunning historic palace is home to an incredible private art collection. I visited mid-day, and there weren’t tons of people here.

✨ My little hack for traveling the Amalfi Coast af ✨ My little hack for traveling the Amalfi Coast affordably 🇮🇹

I LOVE this little town that literally no tourists visit. And this was actually my second time in Scala.

It’s one of my favorite places to stay on the Amalfi Coast because you get the most beautiful mountain and coastal views without the Positano price tag. 🥹

It’s right next to Ravello and all the views overlook stunning Ravello from this little town.

🏡 I stayed at a beautiful hotel here for just €130/night — comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the hotel I stayed at!

Dating back to the 4th century, Scala is considered the oldest town on the Amalfi Coast, and it’s the perfect base for exploring. 🏔️

🚌 Buses take you straight to Ravello in around 10–15 minutes, and you can easily get down to Amalfi too.

🍝 For lunch, try San Pietro @pietrobarscala
🍷 For dinner, go to Z’Antonio @zintonioscala

If you want to experience the Amalfi Coast without paying Positano prices or dealing with the same crowds, save this little town for your trip! 🤍

Budget friendly places to stay in the Amalfi Coast Budget friendly places to stay in the Amalfi Coast

Positano, Capri, and Amalfi might be the most visited towns on the Amalfi Coast and accommodation can be quite expensive.

But you can really stay anywhere along the Amalfi Coast and get around by bus or ferry!

Here are the most affordable towns to look for accommodation as they are less touristic.

- Scala: the oldest town in Amalfi Coast. I stayed here and there were nearly no tourists. My place at the end of this video cost €130/a night with this epic private terrace
- Vietre Sul Mare: a beautiful hidden gem known to make ceramics
- Salerno
- Maiori
- Cetara
- Praiano
