Best Brunch in Lisbon
1. Marquise da Mobler

⭐ Why Go: It’s a hidden gem and has the most beautiful garden patio
📍 Area: Príncipe Real
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. Nova da Piedade 33, 1200-296 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5 (The Garden area is busy at peak lunch)
💡 Good to Know: There’s a communal table in the garden if you’re solo.
This was my favorite brunch in Lisbon. It’s located in Príncipe Real, which is also my favorite neighborhood in Lisbon. The area feels more local and has lots of cafes, restaurants, and green parks. I tried the roast beef sandwich, and it was actually so good and flavorful for something that seems like it would be so simple.
The garden is really the perfect place to just relax with a book after lunch. The indoor space is also gorgeous. It’s a bit more modern and sleek.
2. Inception

⭐ Why Go: Minimalist decor, specialty coffee, and delicious brunch options.
📍 Area: Baixa
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. dos Douradores 120, 1100-207 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: There’s an upstairs space that’s perfect for getting some work done on your laptop.
This is one of the coolest brunch spots in Lisbon, and not many people are even talking about it.
If you’re looking for a unique brunch in Lisbon, add Inception to your list.
Inspired by the movie Inception, the café is full of quirky details with faces on the walls and simplistic décor.
The food is just as good as the concept, with a great brunch menu and specialty coffee.
I tried the hash browns and the pistachio pancakes! The pancakes were so soft and fluffy. I can honestly say they were sooo good! I’m not even a huge sweets person, so that says a lot.
3. COMOBÅ

⭐ Why Go: Scandinavian-inspired café serving beautiful brunch dishes, specialty coffee, and fresh pastries.
📍 Area: Chiado
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. da Boavista 90, Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 4/5
💡 Good to Know: One of Lisbon’s most aesthetic cafés, so there could be a wait during peak brunch hours.
If you’re looking for a café with a tram view, don’t just stick to the ones you see on social media. They are on just about every street, as you can imagine! So this and the next 2 spots were my favorite Lisbon cafés with a tram view. Sometimes the trams are slow to pass by, so you have to be patient. Nonetheless, COMOBÅ was such a cute coffee shop in Lisbon. I really liked their brunch options. They had both savory and sweet options.
4. Fora Artisan Pastry

⭐ Why Go: A cozy neighborhood café known for its creative brunch menu and homemade pastries.
📍 Area: Alfama
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. da Madalena 180, Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 4/5
💡 Good to Know: Their French toast is a must-try, and portions are quite generous.
Fora is a small artisan bakery, and if you can grab a table by the doorway, you will have the best spot in all of Lisbon to watch the trams go by. The cafe is situated on a narrow street, and so the tram passes by super close to the doorway. I was lucky on two different occasions to snag the doorway seat. The breakfast here is quite simple. You can get toast and eggs, Eggs Benedict, or any pastry items you want. The coffee is really good, and they even have matcha.
5. Dear Breakfast

⭐ Why Go: One of Lisbon’s best all-day breakfast spots with a menu full of brunch classics.
📍 Area: Multiple locations; I visited the Chiado Branch
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. Gaivotas 17, 1200-202 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 4/5
💡 Good to Know: They have multiple locations across Lisbon, making it a convenient option wherever you’re staying.
Dear Breakfast is one of Lisbon’s best brunch spots. You’ll want to arrive early to secure a seat by the window on the second level. These spots have tram views, and it’s such a nice way to start your morning. I arrived a few minutes before opening at 8 am to make sure to get a window seat, as they do go quickly later in the day. There are a few locations around Lisbon and even in Porto. The one I visited was the Chiado location, and you can watch my Instagram reel here to see what it’s like!
6. Sœurs Café

⭐ Why Go: A charming French-inspired café serving delicious pastries, brunch, and specialty coffee.
📍 Area: Chiado
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. Garrett 80, Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: It’s fairly small, so visiting earlier in the day is your best bet for finding a table.
Another of the best cafes in Lisbon is Sœurs Café. It has a minimalistic decor, and in the evenings, they have additional seating in the back. I tried an egg sandwich, which they are known for. After having these in Japan, I had been craving one. And do not skip the hot chocolate chip cookie. It was amazing! Plus, it came with a fun message after you cut into it.
7. Fauna & Flora

⭐ Why Go: One of Lisbon’s most popular brunch cafés, known for its beautifully plated dishes and great coffee.
📍 Area: Santos or Anjos
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. da Esperança 33, 1200-655 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 5/5
💡 Good to Know: Expect a queue, especially on weekends—arriving right when they open is recommended.
Santos area was one of my favorite neighborhoods for cafes. There are so many just bundled in this area. I really liked Fauna and Flora. It was a chill spot without a long wait to be seated. The flower displays make it really cozy, too.
8. Lova coffee and flowers

⭐ Why Go: A unique café combining specialty coffee, delicious brunch, and a flower shop all in one.
📍 Area: Alcântara or São Bento
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. Prior do Crato 69, 1350-261 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: The flower-filled interior makes it one of the prettiest cafés in Lisbon and a lovely spot to work remotely or enjoy a slow morning.
Lova Coffee & Flowers is a hidden gem in Alcântara. They have some of the most delicious matcha drinks here. The presentation is really nice, too. It’s got a small indoor and outdoor space. I didn’t find it too incredibly busy during a weekday, at least. I was able to pull out my laptop and do some work here. For brunch, they have typical egg dishes, sandwiches, and are known for a Ukrainian dish called syrnyky (thick cheese pancakes).
9. Confeitaria Nacional

⭐ Why Go: a historic cafe from 1787 tucked away in a central location
📍 Area: Baixa
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] Praça da Figueira 18B, 1100-241 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 4/5
💡 Good to Know: Seating downstairs is casual/walk-in style but upstairs is more formal.
Confeitaria Nacional is one of the top historic cafes in Lisbon. It dates back to 1787 and is right in the middle of the city next to Praça do Comércio. However, many tourists still miss it, and it’s right in plain sight. It was a perfect spot to start the morning with a coffee and a pastry. They have so many fresh bakery items to choose from. Upstairs is more formal, with sit-down tables and ordering from a server. There’s also a hidden viewpoint of the famous square from the second level.
10. Pastelaria Versailles

⭐ Why Go: One of Portugal’s most historic cafes + authentic Portuguese feel
📍 Area: Saldanha
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] Av. da República 15 A, 1050-185 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: Ordering at the counter for takeaway is cheaper than sitting down.
Versailles is another one of Lisbon’s most iconic and historic cafes. It opened in 1922 on Avenida da República. The interiors are absolutely stunning with ornate stucco and stained glass. It feels like a very authentic Portuguese cafe. Inside, you can order at the counter and stand for a quick espresso and pasty, which is a super traditional thing to do. Otherwise, they have plenty of seating and come to your table for your order. I had a few croquettes, a pastel de nata, and a latte while here. It wasn’t overly busy, and I really enjoyed a quiet break here.
11. Casa São Miguel

⭐ Why Go: The cute facade + charming atmosphere
📍 Area: Alfama
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. de São Miguel No 5, 1100-542 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: To snag the seat in front of the facade, come at opening time. Seating is super limited as it’s a small cafe.
This is the cutest cafe in Lisbon! The facade is simply adorable with is pastel green colors. It’s the perfect place to stop by for a casual coffee or tea in Alfama. The bakery is full of amazing pastries too. To snag a seat by the window outside, you’ll want to arrive at opening or during the chill weekday hours. It’s on a small side street without cars. While the space is snug, it’s not hard to capture.
12. Café da Garagem

⭐ Why Go: A cafe with some of the best views in Lisbon
📍 Area: Alfama
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] Costa do Castelo 75, 1100-178 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 5/5
💡 Good to Know: The best window seats can be hard to come by, as it’s a popular place.
Café da Garagem is a cafe with the best views of Lisbon. The cafe is lined with window seats overlooking the most incredible views of the city. The coffee is great, and they have light options for lunch here. There’s also outdoor seating with unobstructed views of the Lisbon skyline. On summer days, unfortunately, the cafe closes before sunset, but in the winter, you get to watch the amazing sunset here.
13. Seagull Method

⭐ Why Go: A local neighborhood cafe with the best customer service
📍 Area: Príncipe Real
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. da Palmeira 23, 1200-311 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 4/5
💡 Good to Know: It’s a cute local spot, and there are 2 window seats.
Seagull Method is a charming cafe located in Príncipe Real. What really stood out is how welcoming and sweet the staff were. I was coming here solo and really wanted the cute window seat. They let me wait for it, despite the cafe being on the relatively small side. I was also indecisive on what to order and was so happy I got the pancakes. Not only were they delicious, but they were so pretty! The presentation was just gorgeous.
14. Amelia

⭐ Why Go: Pretty interiors + best cafe for group dining
📍 Area: Campo de Ourique
🗺️ Location: [Google Maps] R. Ferreira Borges 101, 1350-128 Lisboa, Portugal
👥 Crowd Level: 3/5
💡 Good to Know: It’s spacious enough for groups
Amelia has such a pretty and spacious interior. It’s perfect for big groups because there’s plenty of seating. I won’t lie, it wasn’t my favorite spot for food. I did get something basic like a chicken burger, so maybe other items are better. I decided to still include as I loved the interiors, and I think it’s a great spot to meet a friend.
