Every single evening, this hill completely transforms into a whole event. People gather on the grass with drinks and after the sunsets, everyone starts clapping. People dance, sing, and cheer. It’s one of the happiest moments. It’s something you truly can’t miss when visiting.

This is the most beautiful medieval town in Portug

This is the most beautiful medieval town in Portugal and I can’t believe how many people miss it 🏰✨

The first time I visited Óbidos, I couldn’t believe a place this beautiful actually existed. Surrounded by ancient stone walls, this charming Portuguese village is filled with whitewashed houses, colorful flowers, and cobbled streets.

Dating back to the Roman era, Óbidos became one of Portugal’s most important medieval towns. It was famously gifted by King Dinis to Queen Isabel in 1282 as a wedding present, earning it the nickname “The Wedding Gift Town.”

One of the best things to do here is walk along the walls for insane views all around. Don’t leave without trying Ginjinha, the town’s famous cherry liqueur, often served in an edible chocolate cup. 🍒🍫

Despite being just over an hour from Lisbon, many visitors only stop for a quick photo. I stayed overnight and was so happy I did. Plus, my room had the most perfect views of the medieval walls. I loved staying at this unique accommodation.

How to visit: Driving is the easiest option, but you can also reach Óbidos by bus from Lisbon in about 1 hour. Once you arrive, everything is walkable, making it the perfect day trip or stop on a Portugal road trip.

This one of Italy’s best hidden gems, and I can’t believe more people don’t know about it. 🤍🇮🇹

Just 1.5 hours from Rome, this charming whitewashed seaside town feels like something straight out of a postcard. I spent the day wandering its narrow streets, soaking up the sea views, and waking up to one of the prettiest hotel views I’ve ever had.

One of my favorite experiences was taking a boat tour along the coast. From the water, you get incredible views of Sperlonga and nearby Gaeta, plus you can explore beautiful sea caves that you’d never see from land.

If you’re looking for an underrated day trip from Rome or somewhere to slow down and escape the crowds, add Sperlonga to your Italy itinerary. ✨

If you’re planning a trip, save this mini guide because a little planning makes a huge difference. Visiting at the right time, knowing which tickets to book, and how to get around can save you hours of waiting in line.

The Amalfi Coast is best seen by boat 🇮🇹✨

And no, you don’t need to spend €400+ on a private boat tour.

I booked a shared sunset boat ride for just €70 per person and it was honestly one of my favorite experiences on the Amalfi Coast. 🍾🌅

You get the most incredible views of Positano from the sea. The colorful buildings stacked along the cliffs look even more magical from this perspective.

The boat stops right in front of the village so you can capture that dream photo 📸

You’ll also pass by Fiordo di Furore, the iconic bridge and tiny beach tucked between the cliffs. It’s one of those places that is actually so difficult to reach by foot or public transport, so seeing it from the boat is the perfect way.
