This is your guide to the best South of France towns just along the beautiful French Riviera. Southern France is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. Situated all within short train rides from each other, these must-see destinations are sure to give you wanderlust.
Nice, France
Nice is the largest city along the French Riviera. I would station yourself here & then you can take a train to the many towns listed below. In Nice, don’t miss going to the top of Castle Hill for an incredible view. The best sunrises and sunsets can be seen at the top of this hill. There’s also a waterfall if you keep venturing up. It is one of the best things to do in Nice.
Menton
This is as close to Italy you can get – only 30 minutes from Italy, you will find Menton, France a pretty coastline town. Don’t miss the perfect insta-worthy shot at Quai Napoleon III and the cemetery of the Old Chateau tucked within narrow passageways of the Old Town, boasting incredible views of the city from above.
Eze
Eze is a must-visit enchanting village along the French Riviera with quaint winding streets perfect for exploring.
Villefranche Sur Mer
Neighboring Nice, you can easily reach Villefranche Sur Mer, an under-the-radar town with colorful buildings and a seaside peaceful view.
Monaco
Monaco is actually another country believe it or not. It is the second smallest country in the world behind the Vatican. It is known as the “Billionaires’ Playground” famous for its lavish wealth, casinos, and glamorous events.
