Moving to London 🇬🇧 as an American Q&A ✨I’ll be answering some of the many questions I have been getting about my move to London from America 🇺🇸 in light of my citizenship journey! (Q1 was already posted and answered why I wanted to move to the Uk). Q2: What kind of Visa are you on?I moved abroad with the Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa! It is when a company sponsors you. This is the best visa to get on because once you live here for 5 years you can gain permanent residency – which is called Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). Once you have ILR you are free to work wherever you want without sponsorship. And after one more year, you can apply for citizenship and become a permanent resident! Right now I’ve just applied for citizenship & waiting on my decision.
